The march might not be as sprightly as earlier ones on the Capitol Square, but it'll be spirited and determined just the same.
Seniors and retirees are planning to protest on the Square on Monday against Gov. Scott Walker's state budget plan that would make major cuts in the state's SeniorCare program.
The march is organized by the Wisconsin Alliance for Retired Americans, and will begin at 3:30 p.m. at the Concourse Hotel, One W. Dayton Street, and head to the Capitol across the street.
The state convention of the alliance is being held at the Concourse on Monday.
The seniors will be carrying "Don't Walker on Me" protest signs.
"Scott Walker wants to end the Senior Care program as we know it, which helps thousands of retirees in our state afford the prescriptions they need to stay healthy," Leon Burzynski, state president, said in a news release.
Over 100 convention attendees are expected to join the protest.
